Tryouts
Our Rancho Little League 2026 Spring Season kicks off 1/10/26 with our first Minor & Major Division tryout followed by our Rookie AA Division tryout!
We look forward to getting the season going, below is a comprehensive explanation of the tryout.
If your child is signed up for Minor or Major Division they need to attend one of our 2 tryout dates 1/10 or 1/17/26, the exception would be returning players rostered on the Spring 2025 Major A’s, Padres and Dodgers teams. All Rookie AA players need to attend our only tryout date 1/10/26.
Location: Cucamonga Elementary School (CES)
Minor & Major Divisions TryoutTime: 9 am to 11 am
Check-in will begin at 8:30 am
The last check-in will be at 10:00 am to ensure they can complete their tryout before 11 am.
Rookie AA TryoutTime: 12 pm to 2 pm
Check-in will begin at 11:45 am
The last check-in will be at 1:00 pm to ensure they can complete their tryout before 2 pm.
Warm-ups are done on his/her own, so please have them stretch and throw before they try out.
Have your player wear baseball or athletic clothing.
Items to bring:
Baseball Glove
Cleats
Hat
Cup
Bat
Helmet
The players will be assessed in 4 ways:
Batting- they will have 5 swings at-bat with the balls pitched from our pitching machine.
Base Running- upon completion of batting, they will run out of the batter’s box to second base, simulating them hitting a double.
Ground Balls- they will then take 3 ground balls at Shortstop throwing each one to first base.
Fly balls- last, they will get 3 fly balls in left field, throwing the ball in to second base
Upon completion of their assessment, the player can go home.
Reminders:
Players that do not attend 1 of the 2 Minor & Major try-out dates 1/10 or 1/17 will be a hat pick and ineligible to be drafted up into a higher division.
Just because your child does the tryout it does not mean that your child will be drafted to a higher division. That is up to the managers drafting the teams from our Minor division through our Senior Division.
It’s not too late to register for the season! www.rancholl.org
